The European Board Exam in Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery is deeply distressed by the ongoing violence in Gaza, Israel, and the broader Middle East, and the profound humanitarian crisis that continues to unfold. We mourn the tragic loss of life — including that of many children — and the suffering endured by civilians on all sides of the conflict. 

Our thoughts are with all victims, their families, and especially with our medical colleagues who are working tirelessly to care for the injured and to maintain essential health services under extraordinarily difficult and dangerous conditions. 

We encourage any of our fellows who wish to support humanitarian efforts in the region to do so through trusted organizations, such as the International Committee of the Red Cross. 

We stand in solidarity with our colleagues across Europe, including our partners in the UEMS, AEMH, CEOM, and UEMO, and we reaffirm our unwavering support for healthcare professionals providing critical, life-saving care — often at great personal risk — in Gaza and all affected areas.
